1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Qurb mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. Qurb is operated by Bootstrapped Labs LTD ("we," "us," or "our").

2. Description of Service

Qurb is a mobile application designed to help Muslims build consistent Quran reading habits through accountability-based app blocking. The App provides:

  • A Quran reader with Uthmani Arabic script, translations, and audio recitation
  • Daily reading goals and habit streak tracking
  • OS-level app blocking tied to your daily Quran goal
  • Progress tracking through the whole Quran, from Al-Fatihah to An-Nas

Qurb is a habit-tracking tool. It does not provide religious rulings, fatwas, or scholarly guidance. For such matters, please consult qualified Islamic scholars.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Qurb. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. By using the App, you confirm that you meet these age requirements.

4. No Account Required

Qurb does not require you to create an account. Your reading progress and settings are stored on your device. Some usage data is sent to our analytics provider to help us improve the App, as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

The Quran reader is free. App blocking is part of Qurb Premium, which is available as a monthly or yearly subscription. Prices are shown in the App Store for your country before you buy.

Free trial: the yearly plan may include a 7-day free trial. Apple allows one free trial per Apple ID, so it is only offered if you have not had one before. You start the trial through the App Store, and it converts to a paid yearly subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.

Free week: if you choose not to subscribe during onboarding, we may give you one free week of app blocking. It needs no payment details and ends on its own; nothing is charged and there is nothing to cancel. It is offered once.

We may sometimes offer a discounted price, for example once after a free trial or free week ends. The terms of any offer are shown in the App Store before you buy.

If you choose to subscribe:

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID through the App Store
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's App Store settings
  • Refunds are subject to the policies of the respective app store

Financial hardship: If you genuinely cannot afford Qurb, we want you to have it anyway. Contact us at info@tryqurb.com . No verification required — honor system. This reflects our Islamic values around accessibility.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality or third-party services it relies on
  • Attempt to bypass or circumvent the app blocking features
  • Use automated systems or bots to interact with the App
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the service

7. App Blocking Features

Qurb's app blocking feature uses Apple's Screen Time framework (FamilyControls) and is available on iPhone only. By enabling app blocking, you grant Qurb the necessary system permissions to enforce your chosen settings.

We are not responsible for any consequences arising from blocked access to apps during an active blocking session. Please ensure you have accounted for any time-sensitive needs before activating app blocking.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the App — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, UI design, and software — are the exclusive property of Bootstrapped Labs LTD and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Quranic text, translations, and audio recitations are provided via the Quran.com API and are subject to their respective licenses and copyright holders.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. App blocking functionality depends on the availability of platform APIs provided by Apple, which may change at any time.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bootstrapped Labs LTD shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profit, or interruption of service.

11. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part of it) at any time with or without notice. We may also update these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. You may stop using the App and uninstall it at any time, which will permanently remove all locally stored data from your device.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Bootstrapped Labs LTD operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of the applicable jurisdiction.
